Colorbond Touch Up Paint: Fix Scratches and Chips Fast

Even the most carefully installed Colorbond fence can pick up minor scratches, chips and marks over time — from installation, from tools, from garden equipment or from general wear and tear. Colorbond touch up paint is the quick, easy solution for repairing these minor blemishes and keeping your fence looking its best.

FPM Building Supplies stocks Colorbond touch up paint in a range of colours to match the standard Colorbond palette.

What Is Colorbond Touch Up Paint?

Colorbond touch up paint is a specially formulated paint designed to match the colour and finish of Colorbond steel products. It is available in small quantities (typically 150g aerosol cans) for spot repairs to scratches, chips and minor damage.

When to Use Touch Up Paint

Touch up paint is suitable for:

  • Minor scratches and chips from installation
  • Small areas of damage from garden tools or equipment
  • Cut edges where the Colorbond coating has been removed
  • Minor rust spots on the surface of the steel

For larger areas of damage or significant corrosion, a more comprehensive repair or replacement may be required.

Available Colours

Touch up paint is available in colours to match the standard Colorbond range, including:

  • Monument
  • Night Sky
  • Woodland Grey
  • Basalt
  • Paperbark
  • Surfmist

Always match the touch up paint colour to the specific Colorbond colour of your fence or roof.

How to Apply Touch Up Paint

  1. Clean the damaged area thoroughly, removing any dirt, grease or loose material
  2. Allow the area to dry completely
  3. Shake the aerosol can well before use
  4. Apply the paint in thin, even coats from the recommended distance
  5. Allow each coat to dry before applying the next
  6. Apply 2–3 coats for best coverage and colour match

Tips for a Good Colour Match

  • Always use touch up paint that matches the specific Colorbond colour of your fence
  • Apply touch up paint in similar lighting conditions to how the fence will normally be viewed
  • Touch up paint may not be a perfect match on older, weathered Colorbond — the colour of the fence may have changed slightly over time
