The 65×65mm square steel post sits in the middle of the square post range — stronger than the 50×50mm post but lighter than the 75×75mm section. It is a popular choice for standard residential Colorbond fencing where a slightly more robust post is preferred.

FPM Building Supplies stocks square steel posts in 65×65mm and a full range of sizes for fencing projects across Victoria.

What Is a 65×65mm Square Steel Post?

A 65×65mm square steel post is a hollow square section (SHS) steel post with a 65mm × 65mm cross-section. It is galvanised for outdoor and in-ground use.

When to Use a 65×65mm Post

65×65mm posts are suited to:

• Standard residential Colorbond fencing at 1.8m height
• Fences in slightly more exposed locations where a 50mm post may be marginal
• Applications where a more substantial post profile is preferred
• Intermediate posts in longer fence runs

Choosing the Right Square Post Size

FPM Building Supplies stocks square steel posts in four sizes:

Size	Typical Application
50×50mm	Lightweight, standard residential fencing
65×65mm	Standard to medium-duty residential fencing
75×75mm	Medium to heavy-duty fencing, taller fences
100×100mm	Heavy-duty, gate posts, commercial applications

The right size depends on the fence height, exposure, post spacing and any specific engineering requirements.

Available Colours

Square steel posts are available in Colorbond colours including Monument, Woodland Grey, Night Sky and Basalt.
